♥ My first edits for The Auspicious Troubles of Chance have been completed and turned in! Feeling a little nervous, (and excited!) about unleashing these fellas upon the world. More to come soon!
♥ Dreamspinner Press turns five this month, and with it comes a huge, month-long celebration that includes sales, giveaways, prizes, and more! Over the course of the month, all of Dreamspinner's titles will be discounted according to how long the author has been with them. Learn more here.
♥ Torquere Press 2012 Charity Sip Blitz: It's that time again, where all of our great authors get together to donate to a charity working within the GLBTQ community! This year, Torquere Press has chosen NOH8 as the donation charity, and authors who contribute agree to donate 100% of their royalties to NOH8, with Torquere Press matching the donation.
This year's theme, since this is Torquere Press' ninth anniversary as well, is leather. Nine is the leather anniversary, y'all! How cool is that?
Leather can be reflected in any way in the story. BDSM may immediately spring to
mind, but leather can also mean cowboys, fast cars, Italian shoes, jewelry, or any of a million other things. We want stories that show LGBTQ characters in positive situations, and have strong stories with happy endings. (Or at least happy for now.)
Word count is 3000 to 8000 words, and those limits are firm. Please adjust your manuscripts accordingly before submission. Deadline for submissions is July 1, 2012. Please send all submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Charity Sip Blitz in the subject line. For formatting questions or other content questions, please refer to our general guidelines, here: http://torquerepress.com/submissions.html
This is a great event, and although I hadn't been around to participate in the last two, I certainly intend to gve it my best shot. It would be great to be a part of this, so I'll let you know how it goes!
♥ This week I've had two very lovely reviews for The Amethyst Cat Caper from two very wonderful sites.
♥ 4 out 5 stars -- Erastes from Speak Its Name said:
"This is the second book I’ve read by Ms Cochet (When Love Walks In was the first) and like the first one, I was impressed, and also the author has a talent for creating characters and situations which we’d not only like to see more of – we can say that about many books – but which stories lead naturally to a conclusion, whilst still leaving the door open for More Adventures." Read the full review here.
♥ Becky Condit from Mrs. Condit & Friends Read Books gave The Amethyst Cat Caper 4 blissful sweet peas, saying:
"Reading Charlie Cochet’s THE AMETHYST CAT CAPER is very much like watching a film noir. Set in the 1930s it is stylish, polished, and moody. The ending was absolutely thrilling in the take your breath away kind of action. It’s a short novella and I read it start to finish in one sitting. Ms Cochet got the feeling of the era spot on, including the dialog and descriptions of the city and what people were doing. I enjoyed THE AMETHYST CAT CAPER very much."

*Updated*
Well the post is up on Goodreads where my LiAW story is going to be! How exciting! You can see the photo, the original letter to the author, and story info including length, tags, and genre here. As soon as it goes up, I'll make sure to place a link on the side bar. In the meantime, you can post comments in the thread. If you're not a member of Goodreads, don't worry, you'll still get to read the story. More coming soon!
Oh, and the title of my story is: Roses In The Devil's Garden
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
